With ever increasing costs of living sometimes you just want to have somewhere cheap to camp, not too far from the coast. Some coastal campsites on the Sunshine Coast are over $55 plus a night, some $75. Here’s our top cheap recommendations.
Coochin Creek Camp Ground
This campground is situated in the Beerburrum and Beerwah State Forests, eastern side of the Bruce highway (take exit 179 Bells creek Road/Roys Road exit) and is the ideal location for exploring the Glass House Mountains and southern end of the Sunshine Coast.
We had a wonderful experience camping here, met some great people, had camp fires every night and the sandflies weren’t too bad. Other people have said that they’ve had a bad experience here with horrendous sand flies and noisy campers. I think it just depends what time of year you go (we camped here in October) and who is camping there at the time.
The beauty of this place is because it’s a QPWS site it’s only $13.70 per night for 2 people. There are toilets and fire pits provided but no dogs are allowed. Book through the QPWS website https://parks.des.qld.gov.au/parks/beerburrum-beerwah/camping/coochin-creek

The only problem being is there are only 19 camp spots, with limited caravan sites, hence book in advance.
Beerwah Sports Ground
Budget Buster At Beerwah Sports Ground…… only $15 per night, toilets, dump point and water (maximum 3 night stay). This is also a pet friendly site 🦮. It’s a great stopover to explore the Glass House Mountains, sending up the drone you can see how close it is to the mountains…..

Cooroy RV Stopover
Cooroy is a great little stopover for just $15 per night if you book online or $12 per night if you pay cash…bargain! You have to be fully self contained but there is a dump point and tap to top up your water tanks. This is a pet friendly site 🦮. The only downside is it’s next to a small factory which can be a little bit noisey in the daytime but it’s quiet at night and on the weekends.
It’s just a short stroll from Cooroy township with nice eateries, art centre and the famous Cooroy Mountain Spring Water. This is a great place to explore Noosa from but without the price tag.
Best to book online through HIPCAMP or take your chance and pay on the day of arrival
